Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors during patient visits by preparing the patient, performing preliminary tests, and documenting medical history. Training will be provided to learn pretest equipment and visual screening.

You will help ensure a smooth patient flow, assist with contact lens training when applicable, and collaborate with the optometry team to deliver a best-in-class vision care experience. Some weekend and evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with basic math skills.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history, and prep for the optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the doctor and staff throughout appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during appointments.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings prior to the doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
