Job summary

MyEyeDr. seeks an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients, performing preliminary testing, and handling measurements. No optical experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided.

Weekend and evening shifts may be required as the team serves patients across Lakeland and surrounding areas. You will learn to operate pretest equipment, assist during exams, and help patients feel comfortable throughout their visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn about the vision/optical industry and products.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and prep for optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures during visits.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide seamless patient experience.
