Job summary

AEG Vision in White Bear Lake, MN, is seeking an Optometric Technician to support ophthalmologists and enhance patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with specialty testing, manage the doctor’s schedule, and help educate patients for a smooth, high-quality visit.

Responsibilities include performing exam prep, documenting findings in EHR, scheduling referrals, maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, and supporting clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care.
• Experience maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Industry certification: CPO, CPOA or CPOT.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-testing procedures before exams (e.g., dilation, acuity checks).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and documentation in EHR.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient data in accordance with privacy policies.
• Assist with clerical duties and basic referrals as needed.
• Provide patient education to support care plans.
