Job summary

AEG Vision in Fridley, MN is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and deliver efficient patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule.

You’ll document findings in EHR, coordinate referrals, and educate patients on procedures. The role requires HIPAA familiarity, eye-care terminology, and relevant certifications. Full-time, on-site, with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification: CPO, CPOA, CPOT.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topical medications, Optomap, and other testing.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule to optimize patient flow and efficiency.
• Record medical findings and communications in EHR; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-ups as needed.
