Job summary

AEG Vision in Oakdale, Minnesota seeks an Optometric Technician to support optometrists in pre-testing, diagnostic testing, and post‑exam tasks. You will help manage appointments, educate patients, and ensure efficient, high‑quality experiences from check‑in to check‑out.

You will perform preliminary evaluations, assist with specialized tests, maintain medical records per HIPAA, and help coordinate referrals while supporting clerical duties in a fast‑paced practice.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Assist Optometrists in pre‑testing procedures and specialty diagnostic testing to support a high‑quality patient experience.
• Schedule and manage the doctor’s appointments to maximize efficiency and patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment; coordinate referrals as needed.
• Assist with documentation in EHR and perform clerical duties related to medical documentation.
