Job summary

LensCrafters in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an enthusiastic Optometric Technician to support the doctor and deliver the LensCrafters Experience, ensuring patients receive high-quality care and a smooth exam flow.

You will perform pre-exam tests, gather medical history, enter data in the CIAO system, manage patient records under HIPAA, assist with contact lens orders, and help maintain inventory and a welcoming environment for every patient.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service experience.
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Knowledge of office environment.
• Strong basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and maintain a professional image.
• Answer the telephone promptly in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Assist the optometrist during eye examinations and prepare patients, including gathering medical history.
• Review prescriptions, identify special needs, and coordinate with staff.
• Maintain patient records per HIPAA and organize files.
• Support scheduling and CIAO data entry.
• Assist with contact lens orders and maintain the contact lens room.
• Monitor inventory and support retail as needed.
