Job summary

AEG is hiring an Optometric Technician to support clinicians and deliver high-quality patient care on-site in Texas. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, manage appointment schedules, and ensure accurate documentation in EHRs.

The role requires eye-exam experience, familiarity with ophthalmic terminology, and valid industry certification (CPO/CPOA/CPOT). Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto reflector, visual acuity, etc.
• Records and maintain patient records / files in compliance with HIPAA and other policies.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and manage the doctor’s appointment schedule.
• Help ensure maximum schedule utilization through confirmations and recalls.
