Job summary

AEG Vision in Exton, PA seeks an Optometric Technician to support optometrists in delivering high‑quality patient care. You will perform pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient visits.

You’ll maintain patient records in an HIPAA‑compliant system, respond to patient questions, and participate in daily office duties to keep the practice running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co‑workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto reflector, visual acuity).
• Conduct verbal interview with patient prior to visit to determine medical issues for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals and complete paperwork as needed.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication, treatment, or problems needing Optometrist input.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings in EHR and assist with clerical medical documentation.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via confirmations and recalls.
