AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-testing procedures, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient appointments and thorough examination experiences.

You will document findings in EHR, handle referrals, and maintain compliance with HIPAA while providing compassionate, team-based patient service in a fast-paced eye-care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsabilités

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• May be required to schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications, treatments, or referrals to the Optometrist.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and assist with clerical duties.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via pre-appointment confirmations and recalls.
• Perform contact lens insertion/removal and manage inventory and orders.
• Carry out end-of-day wrap-up and maintain clean work areas.
• May act as a scribe or assist with refractions.
