Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors and enhance patient care. You will conduct pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic procedures, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient, high‑quality visits.

You will maintain accurate patient records in an HIPAA‑compliant environment, coordinate referrals, and handle inquiries while contributing to a collaborative, learning‑driven team.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exams (dilation, topical meds, diagnostic tests).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Schedule referrals and manage doctor appointment calendars.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and related policies.
• Handle patient inquiries and assist with documentation in EHR.
