Job summary

AEG in Bridgeport, West Virginia is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and ensure high-quality patient experiences from start to finish. You will perform pre-testing and assist with diagnostic testing, while managing the doctor’s schedule.

The role involves maintaining patient records in EHR, communicating with patients, and handling related duties to support efficient care delivery. Full-time on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams or dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, etc.).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and manage the doctor’s appointment schedule.
• Maintain patient records in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries and assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation.
• Support post‑exam tasks and ensure efficient, high‑quality patient experiences.
