Job summary

Affinity Eye Care seeks an Optometric Technician to support the optometrists with pre-testing, educational patient care, and efficient scheduling to ensure high-quality experiences from start to finish.

You will conduct preliminary evaluations, assist with specialty testing (e.g., OCT/Visual Field), maintain HIPAA-compliant records, and help with scribing or refractions as needed in a collaborative, on-site setting.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto reflector, visual acuity, etc.
• Possibly schedule referral appointments and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain patient records in HIPAA-compliant systems and assist with documentation.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment with the Optometrist.
• May perform diagnostic testing (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera) as needed.
• Assist with end-of-day procedures and maintain exam room organization.
