Job summary

Affinity Eye Care in New Jersey is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the Optometrists, perform pre‑testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to deliver a smooth, high‑quality patient experience.

You will conduct preliminary evaluations, document findings in the EHR, and coordinate referrals while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topical medications, and tests.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and document findings in the EHR.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment plans.
• Support end-of-day duties and maintain organized work area.
