Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and enhance patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage scheduling to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Responsibilities include recording findings in EHR, handling questions about medications, and maintaining a clean, organized practice environment. Training in ophthalmic procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records / files per HIPAA regulations.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Support the doctor’s schedule and patient flow to ensure efficient appointments.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR systems in compliance with policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• May assist with diagnostic testing using specialty equipment.
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation.
