Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to support patient exams by preparing patients for onsite and remote visits, performing pre-exam testing, and clearly explaining each step of the process.

You will act as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, assist with eye examinations, manage medical history and EMR documentation, and help coordinate remote testing, scheduling, and insurance preauthorizations.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or healthcare background preferred
• Medical office professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for onsite and remote exams and document pre-test results
• Assist with eye examinations and explain the testing process to patients
• Triage questions and schedule or refer as needed
• Maintain accurate EMR records and coordinate with retail staff
