VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to enhance patient experiences by preparing patients for onsite or remote exams, performing pre-exam tests, and guiding them through each step with clear explanations. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and help initiate the patient journey.

Role requires at least one year of related experience, an optical/healthcare background is preferred, and employment is full-time in a fast-paced optical care environment.

Competenze

• One year of related experience is required.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Mansioni

• Complete patient registration and collect medical history and ocular health data in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with examinations; explain tests and document results in EMR.
• Support remote appointments: pre-testing, remote conferencing, and additional testing.
• Transition patients to a retail associate after exams and convey doctor recommendations.
• Understand MVC plans and communicate benefits to patients.
• Preauthorize insurance per SOPs and schedule appointments with no-shows/cancellations.
• Maintain patient flow and accurate records; answer clinical questions and triage emergencies.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and handle orders/stock; know brands/parameters.
• Ensure clean environment and participate in required clinical trainings; willingness to travel.
