Visionworks of America seeks a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for exams, perform pre-exam tests, and explain steps in the patient journey. They liaise between patients and Optometrists and support both onsite and remote examinations.

This role requires one year of related experience, a healthcare/optical background preferred, and HS diploma or GED. Training is provided, with a part-time schedule and pay between $17 and $25.50 per hour.

Qualifikationen

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Aufgaben

• Register patients and collect medical history, recording data in EMR.
• Assist onsite eye exams and document preliminary test results.
• Support remote eye exams, including testing and remote conferencing.
• Explain doctor recommendations to patients and hand off to retail staff.
• Explain MVC plan benefits to patients.
• Preauthorize insurance per SOPs.
• Schedule exams and manage appointment books, including no-shows.
• Maintain patient flow and assist with clinical questions.
• Instruct on contact lens use and place orders.
• Travel to other store locations as needed.
