Job summary

Visionworks of America seeks a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests, and explaining steps in the process. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and participate in initial steps of the patient journey.

The role supports both in-store and remote exams, with part-time hours and a pay rate of $15.50–$23.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and submit Medical History and ocular data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document preliminary test results.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and documenting results in EMR.
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Maintain patient flow and schedule appointments per guidelines.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and handle lens orders.
• Maintain clean clinical environment and equipment.
