Job summary

VSP Vision Group in Manhattan Beach, CA seeks an Optician 2 to help customers find eyeglasses and contact lenses matching their prescription, lifestyle, and facial features. You will assist with eyewear selection, measurements, and dispensing while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience and may require state licensure. This on-site position offers hourly pay and opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction and the in-store experience.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in related field.
• State licensure or certification as an optician where required.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Determine the reason for the patient’s visit and recommend eyewear per prescription.
• Attract and retain customers by delivering exceptional customer service.
• Assist customers in frame selection and coordinate with measurements and prescriptions.
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit needs and features.
• Take measurements, assist with adjustments, and dispense eyewear.
• Ensure correct pricing and delivery quotes to patients.
• Provide enthusiastic, concise communication to meet patient expectations.
• Clean and merchandise display daily.
• Assist with insurance billing and processing orders.
• Document all patient communication in the practice software.
• Work on special projects and other related duties as assigned.
