Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care, ensuring proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing. You will combine technical skills with outstanding customer service and maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and insurance options.

The role emphasizes accurate prescription interpretation, order status updates, and collaboration with technicians and managers to deliver a consistently positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• ABO/NCLE certification is preferred but not required.
• At least one year of experience as an optician is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA requirements is preferred.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and basic processing.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories based on prescription, lifestyle and style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, accurate measurements, lens dispensing; interpret prescriptions.
• Enter prescriptions into EHR and ALE system with documentation.
• Provide patient education on care, warranties, and insurance coverage.
• Resolve order issues and communicate status to patients; escalate as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice environment.
