Job summary

AEG Vision is hiring an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments, ensuring correct measurements and proper fit for optimal comfort and vision.

You will interpret prescriptions, liaise with technicians, and educate patients on care, warranties, and insurance coverage to build trust and drive satisfaction across their eyewear journey.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA preferred.
• Computer skills in MS Office, Windows, and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with clear explanations of product and service recommendations.
• Receive patient handoff from technicians or doctors and identify visual needs through lifestyle questions.
• Keeps current on company/industry products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Enter prescription information into EHR/ALE and ensure documentation is attached to the chart.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lens types, and treatments based on needs and measurements.
• Educate patients on eyeglass and contact lens care, warranties, and replacement options.
• Understand medical and vision insurance plans, eligibility, benefits, copays, and coverage limitations.
• Interpret prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists accurately.
• Follow up on pending orders and notify patients of delays or readiness.
