Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensuring proper fit and accurate dispensing, while maintaining high service standards.

You will interpret prescriptions, use EHR systems, and provide education on lens treatments, warranties, and care. A strong customer service orientation and attention to detail are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification is required.
• ABO/NCLE certification is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician is strongly preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge/experience is preferred.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Office and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Delivers an exceptional patient experience and explains product recommendations clearly.
• Takes patient handoffs from technicians or doctors and assesses visual needs to recommend frames and lenses.
• Keeps up-to-date on products, rebates, lenses, and frame options.
• Enter prescriptions into EHR/ALE and ensure proper documentation in patient chart.
• Dispense glasses, ensure proper fit, adjust as needed, and gather patient feedback.
• Educate patients on eyeglass care, warranties, and available lens treatments.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order statuses and issues.
