Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames, ensure proper measurements, and dispense lenses with a focus on quality and satisfaction.

Experience as an Optician, strong customer service, and ability to interpret prescriptions are essential. This full-time on-site role includes benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Receive patient handoff and identify visual needs to recommend frames, lenses, and accessories.
• Keep current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Handle patient calls and update on order status; escalate issues when needed.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription and lifestyle.
• Educate patients on eyeglass and contact lens care, warranty, and coverage.
• Understand insurance plans, eligibility, copays, deductibles, and authorizations.
• Enter prescriptions into EHR/ALE and ensure proper documentation.
• Follow up on pending orders and notify patients when eyewear is ready.
• Inspect final product for fit, and perform adjustments and repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and displays.
• Respond to patient questions about pricing, services, and promotions.
