Job summary

AEG Vision is hiring an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings, ensuring proper fit and accurate lens dispensing, while maintaining compliance with insurance and EHR procedures.

Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills are essential. ABO/NCLE is preferred, with opportunities for growth and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• MS Office/PC skills required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Customer service focus with sales experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers an extraordinary experience to each patient with tailored product recommendations.
• Gathers lifestyle information to recommend frames, lenses, and treatments.
• Keeps up-to-date on products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Communicates order status and resolves issues; escalates when needed.
• Assists patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings based on needs and measurements.
• Explains eyeglass care, warranty, and insurance basics.
• Interprets prescriptions and enters data into the EHR/ALE system.
• Ensures timely order completion and notifies patients when ready.
• Dispenses glasses, checks fit, and performs adjustments.
