Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and top‑notch patient care in a busy practice. You will help patients select frames, lenses, and coatings, ensuring proper fit and lens accuracy while maintaining strong service standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, entering data into the EHR/ALE systems, and communicating order status with patients and team members. ABO/NCLE is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary patient experience and explains customized product/service recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens treatments to fit prescription and lifestyle.
• Interprets prescriptions and enters data into EHR/ALE systems with accuracy.
• Coordinate with technicians/doctors and update patients on order status.
• Maintain product knowledge on lenses, frames, rebates, and warranty options.
• Educate patients on eye care, insurance benefits, and care plans.
