Job summary

AEG Vision in Palo Alto seeks an Optician who will provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments, ensure proper measurements, and dispense products with precision while delivering outstanding service.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, updating the EHR, communicating with technicians and doctors, and maintaining knowledge of insurance benefits, warranties, and promotions to enhance patient

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
• Take and returns patient calls, updating patients on the status of their order and resolving order issues.
• Enter all prescription information into the EHR and ALE system and attach to patient charts.
• Dispense glasses by inspecting product, checking fit, and adjusting as needed.
• Adjust eyewear to ensure visual acuity and comfort using appropriate tools.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranty, and coverage options.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lenses, frames, and insurance benefits.
