Job summary

AEG is seeking a diligent Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and top-tier patient care on-site in Merrillville, IN. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper fit and measurements, and leverage knowledge of insurance and warranties to deliver a seamless experience.

The role emphasizes accuracy, excellent customer service, and collaboration with technicians and doctors to meet patient needs and drive satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• ABO/NCLE is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Gathers lifestyle information to identify visual needs and recommends frames, lenses and coatings.
• Keeps up-to-date on products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Enter prescriptions into the EHR/ALE system and ensure documentation is complete.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and lens treatments based on needs and measurements.
• Educate patients on eyeglasses care, warranty coverage, and maintenance.
