Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care. You will help patients select frames and lenses, ensure correct measurements, and dispense with accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments.
• Keep up-to-date on products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Take and update patient calls, and communicate order status; escalate issues.
• Ensure prescriptions from optometrists/ophthalmologists are entered correctly into the EHR/ALE.
• Follow up on orders and notify patients when eyewear is ready.
• Inspect, adjust, and dispense glasses for proper fit and comfort.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice and displays.
