Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care on-site. You will assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments, ensure proper fit, measure accurately, and use EHR/ALE systems for orders and documentation.

We value patient satisfaction, teamwork, and continuous learning; strong customer service and sales skills are a plus. This is a full-time, on-site role with benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with tailored product recommendations.
• Establish rapport by asking lifestyle questions to identify visual needs and recommend frames, lenses, and coatings.
• Stay current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Manage patient communications and order status, escalating issues as needed.
• Assist patients in frame and lens selection, including treatments and coatings.
• Educate patients on eyeglass and contact lens care, warranty, and protection plans.
• Understand insurance plans, benefits, copays, and coverage limits.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into EHR/ALE systems.
• Ensure orders are within time guidelines and notify patients when eyewear is ready.
• Inspect final products for quality and perform adjustments as needed.
