Job summary

AEG is seeking a Licensed Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear, ensure proper frame fit, take measurements, and dispense lenses with accuracy and a focus on satisfaction.

Responsibilities include educating patients on insurance, warranties, and care, entering data into EHR/ALE, and maintaining product knowledge across frames and lens options. On-site, full-time position with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• State Licensure is required.
• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor; sales experience is a plus.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with customized recommendations.
• Establish rapport by asking lifestyle questions to identify visual needs and recommend frames and lenses.
• Keep current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Handle patient calls and update on order status; escalate issues to management.
• Assist in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments per patient needs.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranty, and replacement options.
• Understand medical and vision insurance plans, eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles, and coverage.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into EHR and ALE systems.
• Follow up on pending orders and notify patients when eyewear is ready.
• Dispense glasses, adjust for proper fit, and ensure comfort.
• Use tools to adjust frames and perform repairs.
• Communicate with technicians and managers regarding orders.
