Job summary

AEG Vision in Houston seeks an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.

Responsibilities include fitting, taking measurements, inputting prescriptions into EHR, educating patients on lens options, warranties, and insurance; maintain accuracy and high service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one year as an Optician preferred; HIPAA experience preferred.
• Proficient in eyewear fitting, lens dispensing, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses to fit prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
• Take and verify measurements, ensure proper frame fit and lens accuracy.
• Explain insurance benefits, warranties, and care guidance.
• Enter prescriptions into EHR/ALE systems and maintain patient records.
• Provide exceptional customer service and promote product recommendations.
• Coordinate with technicians and doctors for patient handoffs.
