Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care in Commerce City, CO. You will help patients choose frames, lenses, and accessories that fit prescription and lifestyle while ensuring proper measurements and lens dispensing.

You will collaborate with optometrists and technicians to deliver a seamless patient experience, maintain accurate EHR records, and stay current with lens technologies, warranty options, and insurance details.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician strongly preferred.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to assist patients in selecting eyewear and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Greet patients, build rapport, and identify visual needs through lifestyle questions.
• Stay current on products, rebates, lenses, and frame options.
• Manage patient communication and update on order status; escalate issues as needed.
• Assist with frame selection, lens types, and lens treatments based on patient needs.
• Educate patients on eyeglass care, warranties, and protection plans.
• Understand medical and vision insurance plans, eligibility, copays, and coverage.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into EHR/ALE systems accurately.
• Ensure timely order follow-up and inform patients of delays or readiness.
• Dispense eyewear, verify fit, adjust for comfort, and solicit feedback.
• Coordinate with technicians and managers for order status.
