Job summary

AEG in Hannibal, MO seeks an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will help patients choose frames and lenses that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style, ensuring proper fit and accurate dispensing.

You will interpret prescriptions, enter data into the EHR, coordinate with technicians and doctors, and educate patients on care, warranty, and insurance basics. This full-time role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and ongoing product knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary patient experience and explains customized product recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings based on prescription, lifestyle and facial measurements.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter information into the EHR and ALE system.
• Follow up on order status and notify patients of delays or readiness.
• Perform eyewear adjustments and repairs for proper fit and comfort.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranty, and insurance details.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice area.
