Job summary

AEG is hiring an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care on-site. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper fit, and accurately dispense lenses while applying knowledge of insurance and warranties.

You will document prescriptions in the EHR and maintain a welcoming, organized practice environment. The position requires strong customer service, good communication, and a hands-on approach to problem solving, with ABO/NCLE preferred but

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help patients select eyewear and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, accurate measurements, and correct lens dispensing.
• Enter all prescription information into the EHR and ALE system and keep charts updated.
• Explain insurance coverage, warranties, and pricing to patients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice and assist with repairs as needed.
