Job summary

AEG is hiring an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care in a busy practice. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories, ensuring proper fit and accurate lens dispensing with a focus on quality and satisfaction.

The role emphasizes interpreting prescriptions, using EHR/ALE systems, and maintaining high standards of service, with opportunities for growth and teamwork in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Take and interpret patient prescriptions in collaboration with Optometrist/Ophthalmologist.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle and measurements.
• Enter prescription data into EHR/ALE and keep patient charts updated.
• Manage orders, provide status updates, and resolve issues with patients.
