Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Ohio is seeking an Optical Technician to enhance the Total Patient Experience while supporting medical needs. You will dispense glasses and contacts, fit frames, and verify prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists.

You will help patients select frames, operate lensometry equipment, and educate on lenses and coatings. Strong customer service and ophthalmic knowledge are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.
• Background check must be satisfactory as required by state.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support.
• Determine patient wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance and pupillary distance.
• Dispense patient orders and repair/adjust frames.
• Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process.
