Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Valley Park, MO seeks an experienced Optical Technician/Medical Assistant to support patients and dispense glasses and contacts. You will work under the direction of Optometrists/Ophthalmologists to connect patient needs with our eyewear and lens options.

Responsibilities include frame selection, measurements, exact lens fitting, lens education and operating lensometry equipment. Prior ophthalmic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist in selecting frames and measuring according to prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and lensometer for lens measurements.
• Educate patients on lenses, coatings and frame options.
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders in E360.
• Maintain inventory and assist with office duties as needed.
