Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Ballwin, MO seeks an Optical Technician (Optician) who dispenses and fits glasses and contacts under doctor prescriptions and helps patients choose frames and lenses.

You will operate the auto-lensometer and lensometer, verify measurements, counsel on lenses and coatings, maintain inventory, and support a world‑class Total Patient Experience across our expanding optical network.

Qualifications

• Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients.
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style, color, and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and lensometer.
• Educate on lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, and PD.
• Dispense orders and manage frame inventory and repairs.
