Clarkson Eyecare in Valley Park, MO is hiring a Medical Assistant (Optical Technician). You will support patients in selecting frames, operate optical testing equipment, and dispense glasses and contacts per prescriptions.

The role emphasizes a strong patient experience and accurate measurements in a fast-paced optical practice. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred ophthalmic experience and prior medical office exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length and pupillary distance.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames; dispense glasses and/or contacts in E360.
• Maintain inventory and keep work areas clean and organized.
