Job summary

Nationwide Vision is seeking an Optical Technician in Phoenix, AZ to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. You will guide patients in selecting frames, measure facial metrics, and support the Total Patient Experience within a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires good communication, basic computer skills, and familiarity with lens technologies; ABO/ABOC certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames.
• Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with policies.
