Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare is seeking an Optical Technician to dispense glasses and contact lenses, fitting eyewear to patient prescriptions and measurements. This role supports the Total Patient Experience while helping patients select frames that suit style and needs.

The position requires strong communication skills, accuracy with measurements, and proficiency with lensometers. Competitive benefits and stable hours are offered at Lake St. Louis locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients while delivering great medical support.
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames.
