Clarkson Eyecare in Mount Vernon, IL is seeking an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts from optometrist prescriptions, while delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience that supports both retail sales and medical needs.

You will work with frames, lenses, and measurements, operate the auto-lensometer and lensometer, and help patients select eyewear; the role requires customer interaction, HIPAA compliance, and a team-focused atmosphere with benefits, PTO,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in medical/ophthalmic office preferred.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Embrace our Total Patient Experience to build relationships while delivering medical support.
• Determine patient needs and recommend eyewear to exceed expectations.
• Assist with frame selection, measuring and fitting per prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate on lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Accurately collect measurements such as PD, bridge, eye size and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames as needed.
• Maintain organized, stocked work areas and follow policies.
