Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare seeks an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from clinicians' prescriptions. You will connect patient needs with available eyewear and services to enhance the Total Patient Experience.

Responsibilities include taking precise measurements, operating lensometry equipment, and assisting with frame selection. A high school diploma is required, with ophthalmic experience preferred, and HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Determine patients’ wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style, facial measurements, and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate on lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames.
• Dispense all glasses and/or contacts in E360.
• Maintain inventory and cleanliness of the presentation area.
