Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking an Optical Technician to join our clinical team. This role dispenses and fits glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists, while supporting patients’ medical needs and enhancing the Total Patient Experience.

The position involves assisting patients with frame selection, performing lens measurements, and educating on lens options and coatings to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent education/experience.
• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Background check as required by state; must provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED required; ABO/NCLE certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embrace total patient experience to build relationships while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer; dispense glasses and contacts.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames; ensure accuracy of orders.
