Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Hueytown, AL seeks an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, using prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists, while delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience.

You will assist patients in selecting frames, take precise measurements, and operate lensometry equipment while educating on lenses and coatings to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a role interacting with customers or patients
• Previous ophthalmic/medical office experience preferred
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
• Background check as required by state

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
• Determine patient wants and needs and selling to exceed their expectations
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
• Dispense patient orders and repair/adjust frames
• Dispense glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process
