Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Ballwin, MO is seeking an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts under the direction of ophthalmologists and optometrists. You'll help patients select frames, take measurements, operate lensometers, and ensure accurate orders in E360.

The role emphasizes delivering the Total Patient Experience, maintaining inventory, and following policies. Strong communication and basic computer skills are required; ABO/ABOC/NCLE certification is preferred or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous ophthalmic experience preferred.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained within first 2 years) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support.
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed their expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense patient orders and repair/adjust frames.
• Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders in E360.
