Clarkson Eyecare in Ballwin, MO is seeking an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. You will help patients choose frames, operate the lensometer, and ensure accurate measurements and orders in E360.

The role emphasizes delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining inventory in a busy optical office. Prior ophthalmic experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and patient-service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Embrace Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in frame selection based on style, measurements, and prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer; dispense glasses and contacts.
• Accurately measure bridge, eye size, temple length, vertex distance and pupillary distance.
• Prepare and dispense orders; maintain inventory and office cleanliness.
• Follow policies and provide general office support as needed.
