Medical Eyeglass Center in Somerville, MA seeks an Optical Associate to partner with clinicians in delivering precise eyewear care. You will assist patients from selection through fitting, process orders, and maintain accurate prescriptions and insurance documentation.

The role emphasizes patient-focused service, attention to detail, and teamwork within a fast-paced optical office setting located inside a medical practice.

Qualifications

• Reading spectacle prescriptions (and contact lenses where applicable)
• Eyewear fitting, adjustments, and repairs
• Strong customer service and sales skills
• Proficiency with MS Excel, email, and insurance portals preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with an outstanding eyewear experience from selection to fitting.
• Process and complete orders through MEC's POS systems.
• Maintain records of prescriptions, orders, payments, and insurance claims.
• Review and track lab orders for timely completion.
• Submit insurance claims and follow up on receivables.
• Dispense eyewear and contact lenses when applicable.
• Assist with eyewear adjustments, repairs, and cleaning.
