Medical Eyeglass Center is seeking a patient‑focused Optical Associate to join our team. You will handle eyewear fitting, order processing, and insurance claims within a fast-paced optical dispensary. The role combines technical eyewear expertise with dedicated customer service in a clinic setting.

You will maintain records, assist with lab orders, and support promotions while building strong relationships with patients and staff. Previous optical experience and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience reading spectacle prescriptions and understanding lens types.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in optical patient services.
• Ability to take precise measurements (PD, seg height, optical center).
• Familiarity with insurance eligibility checks and authorizations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when filling prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with an outstanding eyewear experience from selection to fitting.
• Process and complete orders through MEC's point-of-sale systems.
• Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, orders, payments, and claims.
• Review lab orders to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
• Submit insurance claims and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Dispense eyewear and contact lenses where applicable.
• Assist patients with adjustments, repairs, and cleaning.
• Maintain organized frame inventory and showroom displays.
• Collaborate with providers, technicians, and staff to deliver great service.
