Medical Eyeglass Center in Southborough, MA is seeking a skilled Optical Associate to join our team. You will deliver an outstanding eyewear experience, assist patients with selection, fitting, adjustments, and work with clinic staff to ensure a smooth operation.

This role combines technical eyewear knowledge with patient care, including processing orders, handling insurance claims, maintaining records, and keeping the dispensary organized and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months in optical or related field.
• Ability to read prescriptions and take measurements (PD, seg height).
• Experience with insurance eligibility checks and authorizations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in filling prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with an outstanding eyewear experience from selection to fitting.
• Process orders through MEC's point-of-sale systems.
• Maintain prescription, orders, payments, and insurance records.
• Review lab orders to ensure timely, accurate completion.
• Submit insurance claims and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Dispense prescription and nonprescription eyewear; assist with repairs.
• Maintain frame inventory; keep displays organized and stocked.
• Support in-office promotions and marketing materials.
